Alessandro Mendini is one of the pioneers of Italian post-modernism; and, during a period in the nineties editing design magazines, took on a wide variety of topics having to do with the prevalence of kitsch in Western society. His Sole Collection of wall clocks is unique, in that the design is affixed directly behind the dual acrylic faces which are slightly curved. This optically enhances the pattern and the second, minute and hour hands appear to jump into the room.
