George Nelson, 1953
With the diversity of materials used and their
sculptural shapes, George Nelsons clocks embody the 'joie de vivre'
prevalent in the 1950's. To this day, his wall and desk clocks remain a
refreshing alternative to the usual timekeepers. The Vitra Design
Museum is presenting a re-edition of the iconic designs so cherished by
collectors. Finish and color are true to Nelson's original designs, and
employ acrylic-lacquered wood and metal construction. The Tripod Desk Clock features a brass case and high-grade battery powered quartz movement with easy latch access in the back.
