The Red and Black "ASCENT " with a white circle is the classic color combination of this painted mobile. The design is very elegant given the proper ceiling space and lighting. The rolled loops in the armatures provide an exacting feel to the appearance and movement. This mobile moves in a serpentine motion of one vane following the other as the air currents play across the surfaces. Each mobile is hand balanced, signed by the artist and packaged in his workshop. Joel Hotchkiss has been designing contemporary kinetic art and mobiles since 1976.
