Willy Guhl, as a result of his many years of teaching at the Zurich Kunstgewerbeschule and his wide-ranging practical work, was at the vanguard of Swiss industrial design. The Furniture Game also came about in the context of his teaching activities and portrayed in a simple, playful manner the fundamentals of living and abstract composition.
