The Airdance is finished in a lacquered blue-green patina that changes naturally with age. It's a full-movement outdoor mobile, composed of copper vanes with curved brass armatures. The Patina coloration is often chosen as an accessory placed near a water setting (poolside), or to add a modern Mediterranean feel to a home. Each mobile is hand balanced, signed by the artist and packaged at the workshop - no assembly required! Joel Hotchkiss has been designing contemporary kinetic art and mobiles since 1976. His work has been sold in numerous museum stores including the Guggenheim, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.
