Located on the shores of Lake Orta, Alessi has established itself as the 'factory of Italian design'. Founded in the 20's, today they pride themselves in the art of houshold objects manufactured with stainless steel. Since 1983, Jean Nouvel has received numerous awards and wide recognition in France and abroad, including the Leone d'Oro of the International Biennale of Architecture in Venice (2000), the Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects (2001) and the Praemium Imperial (2001).
