Located on the shores of Lake Orta, ALESSI has established itself as the 'factory of Italian design'. Founded in the 20's, today they pride themselves in the art of houshold objects manufactured with stainless steel. Even though it was officially created in 1969, the 110 is actually a redesigned version of 2032, which had been in the catalogue as early as the 1920s in the heavy, plated nickel-silver version. This is one of a huge number of variations on the nineteenth-century theme of the Oval Serving Dish in the collections of virtually all manufacturers of household metalware.
