ALESSI Sebastiano Pencil Holder
Massimo Giacon was born in Padova in 1961, and since 1980 he has worked as a comic-strip writer, illustrator, designer, artist and musician. Since the early 1980's he has played a leading role in the phenomenal revival of Italian comics originating from magazines such as Frigidaire, Alter, Dolce Vita, Cyborg and Nova Express. In 1985 he began collaborating with the architectural studio Sottsass Associati, whereupon his career in design expanded to include collaborations with Matteo Thun, Studio Mendini and Sieger Design along with additional projects for Memphis, Swatch and Artemide. In 1990, he ventured into the gallery scene, and has had numerous personal exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, America and Japan. In 1994, he began doing graphic design for television and web sites. And after a musical career of about 10 years, his first solo album 'Horror Vacui' was released in 1996 in tandem with a retrospective exhibition of fifteen years of his work.
