The iconic V-Leg design is influenced by the concepts of the Case Study House Program (1949). The project, which concentrated on the Los Angeles area and oversaw the design of 36 prototype homes, sought to make available plans for residences and furnishings that could be easily and inexpensively constructed during the postwar building boom. The V-Leg Bed is constructed of top quality 26-layer maple plywood with a perforated steel mattress support supported by nickel-plated steel or wood hairpin legs.
