Marcel Wanders was elected Designer of the Year, Elle Decoration International Design Consortium in 2005 and 2006. His fame originated with the iconic Knotted Chair, which he produced for Droog Design in 1996. Wanders is now designing for the biggest European contemporary design firms such as B&B Italia, Poliform, Moroso, Flos, Cappellini, and Moooi (of which he is also art director and co-owner).  Founded and headquartered in the Netherlands, Moooi has grown into an internationally renowned label. Their unique consortium strives for the understanding of culture and technology, contributing with a highly successful and innovative design collection.
