Inspired by the simplicity and utility found in a pair of serving tongs, designer Peter Stathis created his Tube Top Lamp, new for 2006. The satisfying composition features a transparent acrylic base that supports a lightweight mesh shade held in place by tension. The effect is that of a floating form over a barely visible base, tethered only by a fabric-covered cord. A full-range dimmer switch provides a range of lighting options. The Tube Top Table Lamp is available in small, medium and large with a scale that encourages the mixing of sizes. Fabric shade, acrylic base.
