VALENTI Sphere Table Lamp for Spazia
Under the
guidance of Renzo Pighi and his brother Diego, Valenti srl became the
leading Italian lighting star by the 1960's. Their efforts led to the
creation of
design successes such as the Medusa, Pistillo and Hebi lamps. In a
moment of extraordinary ferment for Italian design, Valenti became a
reference for the new generation of designers: from Olaf von Bohr, the
Tetrarch Studio to Isao Hosoe, and it took an active role in the debate
regarding the emerging ADI. The
Valentina Terra Floor and the Miriade wire system were born during this
period. These
were important results for the company, which attracted internationally
renowned designers such as De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi, Raimondi and
Bonetto and won several commendations in the Compasso d’Oro. New
materials and increasingly streamlined processes distinguish the
current industrial phase, where the company works with the designers
Borsato, Cortesi and Vietri. The Sphere Table Lamp represents an
elegant
contemporary grouping of crystal blown spheres with long life globe
bulbs on a painted metal frame.
