VITRA Cone Chair
Verner Panton, 1958
There has been a resurgence of interest during the last few years in
the Danish designer, Verner Panton. An outspoken advocate
of space-age living and libertarian lifestyles during the 60's and
70's, Panton's furniture designs are again making stirring
contributions to the spheres of contemporary interior living. Many are
rapidly approaching the status of design icons of the 20th century. Originally designed for a Danish restaurant, this cone-shaped chair is based on the classic geometric figure and is mounted on a stainless steel base in such a way that it pivots. Its semi-circular shell is long enough to form the back and arm supports, making it an exceeding comfortable place to sit.
Material: laminate body, base in satin stainless steel, Tonus 3 polyurethane foam upholstery. We're happy to provide fabric swatches on request.
