The Hudson Collection was originally designed for Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in New York City. The collection was released in 1999, and fuses the contemporary styling of Philippe Starck with EMECO's classic 1944 naval-ready form, manufactured by hand in a meticulous 77-step process. Executed entirely of corrosion-resistant aluminum and available in either a brushed or polished finish, the design is geared toward easy versatility and low maintenance. The Hudson Collection is included in the design archives of the Museum of Modern Art, and was selected by the Chicago Athenaeum as one of the top 100 designs for 2000. Available in brushed, colored powdercoat or hand polished thermal treated aluminum; optional black vinyl seat cushion. (custom colors by special order).
