This Emeco stool was originally commissioned by the U.S. Navy for use in military hospitals. The 1951 is constructed with durable ABS seats and backs, with a brushed/anodized frame that allows it to stack six high. Extremely lightweight and durable, the Emeco 1951 Stool is at home in the new milenium, and remains an iconic masterwork of design. Designworks USA was founded in 1972 by acclaimed designer Charles Petty, and acquired by the German automaker BMW AG in 1995. Now led by Verena Kloos with a staff of over 100, Designworks stands out as a leader in design strategy and development.
