Antonio Citterio, 2006
Antonio Citterio graduated in architecture at the Politecnico of Milan, and from 1972 on
he has worked for many leading manufacturers such as B&B Italia. He
has also been engaged in architectural works dealing with construction
projects and interiors both in Italy and abroad. He holds lectures and
conferences all over the world, and his work has been extensively
exhibited and published. His Spoon for Kartell is an original stool whose shape is as elastic in appearance as it is in function. Its innovation consists mainly in attaching the seat to a central support with a specially reinforced curve to guarantee flexibility and comfort. Furthermore, thanks to a sophisticated design solution, the gas lift pump adjusts the height and is perfectly inserted into the stem. In the same ingenious fashion, the handle which regulates the mechanism is perfectly concealed inside the seat. The Spoon Stool lends itself to any surrounding: kitchen benches, bars and fashionable, nonconformist-style restaurants. Batch-dyed polypropylene.
