Van Severen's unified process of design and production was a fundamental aspect of his work over a long period of time, in which he devoted himself to the examination of basic furniture types: chair, table, chaise lounge, shelving, cabinet. He developed primary solutions for these categories based on a comprehensive exploration of the questions of form, material and construction.  The .04  Armchair is very different from conventional swivel chairs for the office. Its flexible shell is comfortable to sit on and pleasantly yielding to the back. Its new rocking mechanism allows for a smooth transition from the sitting to the reclining position and for gentle sideways movements. Materials: polyurethane seat shell with upholstered effect cantilevered on steel base, flexible backrest thanks to integrated leaf springs, base arch in die-cast aluminum. Leather armrests.
