Andries Van Onck, 1985
Born in Amsterdam in 1928, Andries Van Onck studied under Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and Max Bill in the Dutch De Stijl group. After collaborating at Olivetti with Ettore Sottsass, he opened his own Milan based studio in 1965. He and his wife, Hiroko Takeda, have gone on to create products in many different sectors including household appliances, furniture, industrial equipment and electronics. Their work has been exhibited in many museums, and is part of permanent collections in London, Paris and Amsterdam. Their award winning Lem 90 Table is adjustable in height, and is constructed with a chrome steel frame; it's tabletop is optioned in white MDF with polymeric cover, cherrywood or beech.
