Among the most influential designers of the 20th
century, Lella and
Massimo Vignelli have brought coherence and clarity to innumerable
projects. Born in Italy, the Vignelli's now reside in the USA, and
their work is represented in museums worldwide. Says Lella, "For the
last 25 years, RIT has been collecting archives of the best modernist
graphic
designers of the last century; they use this material for teaching, so
the
students learn about history, theory and criticism, directly from the
archive material. The Vignelli Center for Design Studies at
the RIT will be an alive place, to support the education of the
designers of the next
generations." Each piece in their Lines
Collection
starts with a
single piece of aluminum which is precisely cut, bent, and faced with a
high impact powder coat; the metal structure assures that the table is
sturdy, and at the same time remarkably light. Suitable indoors or
out; optional security mount feet by order.
