Frank Gehry is one of the most influential contemporary architects. His sometimes controversial yet arresting body of work has been described as iconoclastic and rambunctious. This restless spirit has made his buildings and furniture designs a unique expression of contemporary society and its ambivalent values. Gehry is best known for building curvaceous structures; his most famous work, and the clearest expression of his style, is the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. Tested to support 750 pounds, it weighs only six! The Superlight Chair's brushed anodized shell and frame are connected by a hinge, allowing them to flex independently and move with the sitter.
